Honouring Our Youth and Their Achievements

 

The Chrysalis Awards, presented at the Chrysalis Gala on May 10, honour the exceptional achievements and contributions of youth within our community. Hellenic organizations, associations, and community groups are encouraged to nominate outstanding young individuals who exemplify the timeless Hellenic values that have influenced Western civilization for centuries.

Youth aged 13-29 can be nominated in one of the following categories: 

Critical Thinking & Innovation

Recognizing youth who demonstrate intellectual curiosity, problem-solving, and creativity.

Personal Excellence

Celebrating those who strive for excellence in academics, performing arts, or sports.

Civic Responsibility

Honouring youth who actively contribute to their local communities.

Philanthropy &
Giving Back

Recognizing selflessness, kindness, and dedication to helping others.

Perseverance & Resilience

Awarding those who have overcome challenges and continue to inspire.

Environmental Stewardship

Celebrating efforts to protect and preserve our environment.

Arts, Literature & Cultural Appreciation

Recognizing contributions to Greek heritage through artistic and literary pursuits.

Who Can Nominate?

Nominations can come from various organizations within the Hellenic community, including:

  • Hellenic Associations (Syllogi)
  • Hellenic Student Associations 
  • Greek Orthodox Associations
  • Dance & Folklore Groups
  • Business Associations
  • Hellenic Charities

How It Works

Each participating organization is encouraged to:

  • Nominate a Youth (ages 13-29) – Select one outstanding young member from your organization within the aforementioned categories.
  • Sponsor the Nominee – Show your support by covering the nominee’s ticket to the Gala and encouraging your members to attend in support.
  • Join the Celebration – Attend the Gala to witness the achievements of Hellenic youth and network with leaders across the community.

Among the nominated honourees that evening, one individual will be selected as the Chrysalis Changemaker of the Year, chosen by their peers—other young people in our community.
