Greek Roots is a Canadian nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower the next generation of leaders through community volunteerism, mentorship and Hellenic cultural experiences. We welcome all youth aged 13-29 who espouse the values of Hellenism and/or are interested in learning more about Greece and Greek culture.

Volunteer at Montreal’s Greek Independence Day Parade

Whether you’re Greek, philhellene, or just love being part of a great community event, you’re welcome here.
In partnership with the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, Greek Roots is rallying youth volunteers (ages 13+) to help bring Montreal’s Greek Independence Day Parade to life. You’ll be handing out flags, hyping up the crowd, and helping keep things safe and organized.

📅 Date: Sunday, March 29, 2026
🕘 Volunteer Shift: 11 am – 3 pm
📍 Location: Meet at 7040 Rue Hutchison, Montréal QC at 11 am
Volunteer Requirements
- No skills or previous experience are necessary.
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must complete this release form: https://greekroots.org/consent-form/
- Note: your parent or guardian only has to compete this form once (i.e. not for each volunteer opportunity)
- Instructions and orientations will be provided closer to the event.
- You will be provided with clothing/markings to identify you as a volunteer.
- To get to the location, we encourage you to carpool or take public transportation
- For shifts of more than 4 hours, a free meal is provided.
- We will provide a volunteer confirmation following your service. Please allow up to two weeks to receive your confirmation
