Greek Roots is a Canadian nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower the next generation of leaders through community volunteerism, mentorship and Hellenic cultural experiences. We welcome all youth aged 13-29 who espouse the values of Hellenism and/or are interested in learning more about Greece and Greek culture.

VOLUNTEER AT THE HCGM GREEK COMMUNITY’S
ST. JEAN BAPTISTE GREEK FESTIVAL (SOUTH SHORE)
June 21 – 24, 2024
Join us in supporting the 42st annual St. Jean Baptiste outdoor Greek Festival, taking place on June 21 – 24, 2024, at the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, South Shore Region (5220 Grande Allée in St Hubert). Youth Volunteers, ages 13-29, are needed for several tasks including welcoming guests, selling bouncy castle entrance tickets and snacks, servicing the food service station and providing supervision, along with other related tasks supporting the festival. Multiple shifts are available and includes a lunch or dinner break, with a free meal provided to volunteers.
This event attracts a significant number of visitors and is an excellent opportunity to build your leadership and social skills, add volunteer hours to your portfolio and help support the not-for-profit Greek community on the South Shore.
Volunteer Requirements
- No skills or previous experience are necessary.
- If you are under 18, your parent or guardian will be asked to submit a signed release form.
- Instructions and orientations will be provided closer to the event.
- You will be provided with clothing/markings to identify you as a volunteer.
- To get to the location, we encourage you to carpool or take public transportation
- Includes lunch or dinner break, with free meal provided to volunteers
- We will provide a volunteer confirmation following your service. Please allow up to two weeks to receive your confirmation
