Greek Roots is a Canadian nonprofit organization whose mission is to empower the next generation of leaders through community volunteerism, mentorship and Hellenic cultural experiences. We welcome all youth aged 13-29 who espouse the values of Hellenism and/or are interested in learning more about Greece and Greek culture.

World Greek Language Day is celebrated annually following its proclamation by UNESCO in recognition of the Greek language’s enduring contribution to global culture, philosophy, and education. To mark this occasion, the Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal is hosting a special celebration on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the Foyer hall of the HCGM, and has invited Greek Roots youth volunteers to support the event.

We need passionate volunteers to help make this event a success! Roles include:

✅ Assisting with event setup and logistics
✅ Welcoming and guiding guests
✅ Supporting performers and speakers

Join us in celebrating the beauty of the Greek language while contributing to a meaningful cultural event!

📅 Date: Sunday, February 15, 2026
🕘 Volunteer Shift: 1 pm – 4 pm
📍 Location: The Hellenic Community of Greater Montreal, 5777 Av. Wilderton, Montréal, QC H3S 2V7

Volunteer Requirements

  • No skills or previous experience are necessary.
  • If you are under 18, your parent or guardian must complete this release form: https://greekroots.org/consent-form/
    • Note: your parent or guardian only has to compete this form once (i.e. not for each volunteer opportunity)
  • Instructions and orientations will be provided closer to the event.
  • You will be provided with clothing/markings to identify you as a volunteer.
  • To get to the location, we encourage you to carpool or take public transportation
  • For shifts of more than 4 hours, a free meal is provided.
  • We will provide a volunteer confirmation following your service. Please allow up to two weeks to receive your confirmation
